SPEAKER
Daniel Alemán Jr.
Mayor of Mesquite
Daniel Alemán, Jr., was elected as Mayor of Mesquite in November 2021 – the first Latino to serve in this position. Prior to serving as Mayor, he became the City's first Hispanic Councilmember in 2016. He has been a resident since 1998.
Alemán is Pastor of Creek Crossing Harvest Church, and he has often been called a German Shepherd, but that's only because "Pastor Alemán" in Spanish actually means German Shepherd. He also has served as president of the Mesquite Ministerial Alliance and is a mentor for the Poteet High School Football Team and for the Men of Honor Program at Terry Middle School.
Alemán represents the City on numerous boards and committees including representing Mesquite, Balch Springs and Sunnyvale on the Regional Transportation Committee.
