Buttram will present the Economic Development Annual Report for 2023. You will learn about the business growth of the City of Mesquite, and economic impact on our city.

Kim Buttram is a native of Dallas, working to help building community through economic development on the east side of the metroplex since 2007. On the City of Mesquite team since 2016, her current role as Director of the department oversees commercial land development, business relationships, workforce partnerships, redevelopment, and tourism.
Kim has a Bachelors of Business Administration in Marketing from Texas A&M University and is a Certified Economic Developer, a credential held by about 25% of members of the International Economic Development Council. A member of Leadership North Texas Alumni, she has a passion for collaboration and people-empowerment, currently serving as co-chair of Leadership Mesquite for the Mesquite Chamber of Commerce.
Kim and team are having fun ushering new businesses into the North Texas Region and working with our valued existing businesses and partners to maximize the growth boom and renaissance Mesquite is experiencing. She and her husband have four grown children and ten grandchildren, raise chickens and bees, and have a new puppy because they just weren’t busy enough already.
